Figyelmeztetést adott ki a Szuverenitásvédelmi Hivatal – peengélen táncolhatnak egyes politikusok

“A significant risk is the presence of Hungarian actors who facilitate foreign intervention,” the office wrote in its statement.

“Since the European parliamentary elections, there have been increasing efforts within the European Union institution system that directly attack the sovereignty of member states, in particular, the constitutional identity of Hungary.”

“The trend is not new, but the intensity and blatant nature of the attacks are,” wrote the Sovereignty Protection Office in its statement.

The office continued:

Weber openly expressed his hostility towards Hungary in the past.

As they stated, “Manfred Weber, the President of the European People’s Party, made it clear in his speech at last week’s European Parliament that his main task in the coming period is to remove the legally elected government. The European People’s Party went even further in the past few days, calling for the resignation of the Hungarian Prime Minister. Weber openly expressed his hostility towards Hungary in the past:

‘I voted against all of Hungary with Article 7. Not against Fidesz, not against Viktor Orbán, but against the whole country.’.”

According to the Sovereignty Protection Office, “It is obvious that this is not about party-political or ideological struggle, but about these actors aiming to limit Hungary’s sovereignty and illegitimately interfere in Hungary’s internal affairs, as only Hungarian voters have the right to decide who leads the country.”

The Office continued its statement:

“Some EU leaders are stepping up with the apparent intention – as they have done in recent cases in other European countries – to pressure Hungary, force favorable political changes by externally influencing and financially blackmailing Hungarian voters.

“To this end, they want to rob Hungary of the EU funds rightfully due to it, undermine the EU presidency of our country, and restrict Hungary’s EU voting rights.”

They add: “This campaign seriously violates democratic processes and national sovereignty. EU leaders, abusing their powers, use coercion as a tool, finance political activities and disinformation propaganda against Hungary. There is a significant risk that there are Hungarian actors facilitating foreign intervention.”

“The Sovereignty Protection Office has a duty to warn: there is no such thing as ‘giving up just a small part’ of a nation’s sovereignty. Those who lose their sovereignty become servants of foreign interests overnight,” concluded the office statement.

Hungarian Péter: We should give up a very small part of our sovereignty

The relevance of the last sentences of the statement may be reinforced by the fact that Péter Magyar recently stated at a press conference:

“Indeed, we should give up a very small part of sovereignty to allow Hungarian citizens to receive these EU funds.”

Tamás Deutsch, the leader of Fidesz’s European delegation, responded to Péter Magyar’s words on his social media by stating that Péter Magyar revealed the price for Manfred Weber not suspending his immunity: we have to give up a little of our sovereignty.

“What does this mean in practice? Hungary would give up a little of our sovereignty, meaning we would allow migrants in, join those supporting war financially and with weapons, eliminate the reduction of utility costs, taxes paid by corporations, and take away the 13th-month pension. That’s all,” Tamás Deutsch stated in his post.
