At the instruction of Volodymyr Zelensky, all businesses that could benefit from economic exemptions are being inspected. The purpose of the investigation is to determine whether these companies are truly critical to the economy, reported by the Kárpáti Igaz Szó.
The portal recalled that back in July, the Ukrainian government allowed companies with “critical” status to reserve their employees through the Gyija portal. As a result, over 1.5 million men have been granted deferment from military service.
However, the shortage of personnel in the army is reaching critical levels, prompting the Ministry of Defense to initiate the inspection.
Given the conditions in Ukraine – as we add – the demand is understandable to some extent.
Presumably, loopholes similar to those in previous health assessments have been incorporated into this process. We are confident that there is money that can make any company and any employee critical.
But it is worth noting that this system essentially paves the way for “forced labor.”
Of course, anywhere is better than the front line, but imagine if our employer could demand anything from us: a seven-day work week instead of five, 12-16 hours instead of 8 for the same pay, or even expect us to work for free after the shift – otherwise, with two clicks, our status is terminated and we go to the front line.
Ukraine was not a happy place, a worker’s paradise, before the war, but since February 2022, it has become hell itself!
Returning to the news, companies that do not meet the criteria will no longer be able to reserve their employees. The investigation is scheduled to be completed by November 15. After this, the Ministry of Economy must analyze the results and inform the Cabinet of Ministers by November 20.
