According to the information published, the successor of the Ukrainian president can be none other than Arszen Avakov, the former Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs.
The latest report from the Russian foreign intelligence, the SVR, states that attempts to remove Volodymyr Zelensky from power are coming not from anywhere else but from Washington. It was reported that the White House is fed up with the Ukrainian president, and they have selected Arszen Avakov, the former Minister of Internal Affairs, as his replacement. The Russians believe that the reason for the change is that Avakov has good connections with nationalist groups and European leaders, while Zelensky is not delivering the expected results in the war.
Avakov is a familiar figure in Ukrainian politics, as he served as Minister of Internal Affairs under Zelensky and also worked in the same cabinet as Petro Poroshenko, the former Ukrainian president. Avakov has experience on the battlefield as well – after the conflict in 2014, he led the military operations to reclaim the government buildings in Kharkiv.
The SVR has previously come up with similar rumors, stating that Valeriy Zaluzhny, a former commander, would replace Zelensky, but instead, he became an ambassador.
