Illegal migrants attempted to escape from Madrid airport after learning that they would be sent back to their country of origin after waiting for days. The police tried to restrain three Mauritanian men, with whom they got into a minor physical altercation before the attempted escape, prompting them to call for reinforcements – as reported by Magyar Nemzet.

In order to avoid deportation, the migrants broke into the closed reception room at the airport, then tried to escape through the corridors, but they were ultimately caught.

Following their escape attempt, nearly a hundred illegal immigrants, also present at Barajas airport, began to riot, causing property damage and minor injuries to a few police officers – citing LaGacetta.es.

Madrid airport has reinforced its presence of authorities to prevent similar violent events.

Meanwhile, in Menorca, in Maó, a Moroccan migrant was taken action against the Spanish police for sexually harassing a woman in the street.

In her testimony, the woman explained that the man made intimidating remarks to her and tried to grab her from behind with the intention of touching her intimate body parts.

The police collected several witness statements regarding the incident and reviewed footage captured by security cameras near the scene. They were able to identify the aggressor, whom they arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment.
