🇪🇺🇩🇪🇵🇱As many EU countries start to realize the downsides of “open doors”, it seems that Poland is more than willing to take in unwanted migrants.‼️
According to wPolityce.pl portal, between January 1 and September 15, 15,545 foreigners were transferred from Germany to Poland.
“Poland did not reject the acceptance of foreigners coming from Germany,” wrote Lieutenant Colonel Andrzej Juźwiak, spokesperson for the border guard.
In the last three months, the number of returns has also seen a huge increase, as from the beginning of the year until June 6, 290 foreigners were relocated. Since June, the number of people transported by plane was 135.
However, foreigners are not only coming from Germany. According to wPolityce, the border guard stated that other countries have also transported migrants by air to Poland. In the last three months, Norway sent 66, Austria 11, Estonia 9, the Netherlands 8, Sweden 7, Denmark 5, Iceland 5, Finland 4, Switzerland 3, Belgium 3, Luxembourg 2, France 1, and Malta 1.
These transfers are made possible by agreements on readmission between EU countries, meaning that these transfers are happening with the full knowledge and consent of the Polish government.
“Foreigners are brought to the territory of the Republic of Poland from other member states based on international agreements, readmission agreements to which the transferring country and Poland are parties,” said Lieutenant Colonel Juźwiak.
“In the event that Poland agrees to accept a foreigner onto its territory, the transferring country is responsible for organizing the transport of the foreigner to Poland (organizing the trip, possibly providing an escort, etc.), and covers the costs of transportation,” he added.
Given the massive influx, the Polish may be curious about the capabilities of newcomers. As of September 17, there were only 265 vacant positions in all refugee centers in Poland.
