Terrorism in an Absurd Age

A series of actions directed by the political elite is already threatening our everyday security.

Throughout the historical eras, we have progressed from the modern age, then the contemporary age, to the threshold of the absurd age. The latest “invention” of humanity represents the culmination of completely absurd values in various aspects of life, across various fields. Lifestyles and norms that have been experienced for centuries have now become debate topics, and even objects of rejection. Under the influence of new ideas, an appalling, revolting, and undignified way of existence is flourishing.

Because what do we do – the topic is of course well-worn – when a man humiliatingly beats a woman in an Olympic competition, while the crowd of spectators does not intervene or rush to the woman’s defense? Let’s consider the absurdity of the situation, as domestic violence is a criminal offense according to the Criminal Code. If the brutality of a drunken husband turns into physical violence, the law enforcers can impose imprisonment on him. If another man beats his wife and does it in a ring by a stranger, does that not fall under the legal definition of common sense anymore?

At the end of the latest era preceding the absurd age, problems arose with certain new trends. For example, why are women in the ring during a boxing match instead of eating pretzels in the audience? The fact is, neither physically nor emotionally, is sports suitable for women. It should be considered whether activities like boxing, cage fighting, Thai boxing, and other bloodthirsty, hard-to-define games are suitable for anyone.

One notable example of the changing colors in our absurd age is the issue of terrorism. Officially and in terms of security, terrorism is defined as: “The use of force or violence against individuals or property, or the threat thereof, with the aim of influencing governments or societies, instilling fear to achieve a political, religious, or ideological goal.” This was a well-articulated definition in previous historical eras. In the midst of the absurdities of our time, it only partially conveys the essence of terrorism, focusing more on its methodological and instrumental system. This is because the commission of terrorist acts is associated with the terrorist persona, who plans and carries out violent acts. To some extent, it presupposes education, determination, and, above all, the personality distortion of individuals who cannot integrate into society. The most characteristic observable feature was that they were few, acting in isolation, and sooner or later the authorities took action against them in some way.

Today, this is already a thing of the past. Simply because

our narrow world, Europe, is the target of violence, where attacks against normal life unfold under “colorful” circumstances and the perpetrators of unwanted acts – as exemplified – can be anyone, at any time, wielding any life-threatening object from the age of eight onwards.

The bare hand – when not engaged in work – was created for shaking hands between people, at least in our cultural world (and outside of the ring). However, it has now become a weapon when street gangs beat up elderly people for their entertainment or when close combat ensues between car drivers in traffic who have lost sight of themselves.

Why isn’t it considered terrorism when, for example in Vienna, a music concert is canceled because a few unlucky fellows were arrested for fabricating a bomb? Or why don’t we analyze the extraordinary security protocol of the Paris Olympics, acknowledging the panic that grips the authorities before any mass event? Because, for example, in the case of the Olympics, disabling a potential bomb was not a terrorist attack, but the opening scene itself was. Another Olympic example of a terrorist attack against people is when the athletes had to swim in the contaminated waters of the Seine filled with E. coli bacteria, risking their health, or when a mentally disturbed man beats women…

In our absurd age, the new definition of terrorism is a series of actions directed by certain leaders of the political elite aiming to cynically disrupt our viable life and daily security. In the tumultuous world of the streets, where is the English composure when indigenous English people are forced to take matters into their own hands to protect their children from foreigners? Where is the French light-heartedness when, among other things, helpless elderly people are chased on the streets of Paris by illegal migrant hordes?

And where is the German patience when gun shops in Germany are emptied of self-defense weapons due to the security risks posed by undocumented masses to law-abiding citizens? This of course is perfectly understandable when we quote the warning of the police chief of Bonn:

The knives hidden in the pockets of migrant youths coming from afar are least likely turned for slicing salami

– he said. Another type of “terrorized” example, attacking the normal world, is when the cooling tower of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant was blown up on political orders, once a symbol of Germany’s energy independence. It can be classified as a terrorist act, as the action is part of the deliberate “assassination” of the German economy.

So where is the life, peace, and normality in Europe’s modern and recent history that now yearns for nostalgia? At the same time,

old and new terrorism share a common point. Mainly that we do not want to live with it. We want to condemn it figuratively and concretely, as we once cast away the trained terrorists in self-defense, with distinction, from the then still outstanding politics.

Perhaps we have changed over time, but not to the extent that we believe and accept that we are on the right path and want to pass on this social absurdity to our descendants. It is out of the question that people do not return to their normal way of life, i.e., their created existence.
