At medieval universities, theological debates were often organized. The intelligence of the arguing parties was judged by the prestigious teachers of the university. But why were these intellectual battles considered decisive? Don’t we say nowadays that religious debates are completely pointless? Well, the reference base and argumentative technique of the competing parties were the same. They referred to the Bible, the teachings of the Catholic Church, especially dogmas, and built their arguments according to the rules of formal logic. With such methods, it was indeed possible to determine who was right. However, those times have passed.
Who wants to argue here?
Hungarian liberals and socialists constantly talk about the lack of political debate in Hungary. The patriots have something important to say about these debates. Dialogue is important for the left because it is an essential precondition for the annoyance paired with lying. The basis of the argument is some kind of “common sense.” Interestingly, those who are getting married at a train station are also included in this common sense. In this communication space, it is extremely difficult to conduct serious, genuine religious debates. People in modern times usually exchange opinions about their religious beliefs not publicly, but in smaller communities. This will continue until the artificial intelligence that carries absolute truths comes to rule everything.
The Holy Spirit is unbeatable
God does not want to win in religious debates. God wants to awaken love in the hearts of those who argue. He will do this even if artificial intelligence is asked about religion. However, a former Google employee dealing with AI ethics revealed on a major American newspaper podcast that the knowledge of the “talking” robots on religion will be regulated by 4-5 people. This is because religion is a divisive issue, so artificial intelligence should not be freely allowed to answer religious questions. This implies that black belt atheists will determine what is right and wrong in matters of faith. And there is no need to fear this for a second. Why?
God is always greater
I am absolutely certain that the Holy Spirit will give wisdom to those who love God that surpasses the religious knowledge of even the most sophisticated language model. I have no idea how this will happen. But I know, because I have experienced, that God is capable of miracles. Why wouldn’t he be able to do this in the field of communication or information technology? God once brought down the Tower of Babel. He can make the superintelligence under construction disappear with a single breath. But it is also possible that he will sanctify it…
